I'm not sure what my deal is lately. I don't even surf. I mean I do enjoy the beach, but I've only attempted to surf a couple of times and it was pretty much a disaster. So what's with all the surf music influenced music I've been getting into? Not sure. maybe it has more to do with my love of reverb more than anything.....
Sounds like my friends in highschool's old band "the newlywed intercoastal", although they weren't claiming surf at all. They were def going somewhere but disbanded to go to college instead. One member now plays with beach house. http://www.purevolume.com/thenewlywedintercoastal
ReplyDeleteSurf genre was huge in brooklyn last summer, which is kinda weak because none of those losers surf, and brooklyn def aint california, where that kind of music should probably be coming from.
also weed science is a great name.
